Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts
At the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts (MIWSFPA), our renowned faculty members are pleased to offer you a dynamic range of courses and learning opportunities. We offer unique student-centered experiences in Dramatic Arts, Music, Visual Arts, History of Arts and Visual Culture, and Studies in Arts and Culture.
The MIWSFPA opened the doors to its new home in downtown St. Catharines in the fall of 2015. The new facility, formerly a 19th-century textile factory, serves as part of the central core of the historic city.

This aerial view displays our entire MIWSFPA campus, complete with the refurbished red brick factory building on the left-hand side (previously the old Canada Haircloth Factory building) and the new, modern addition to our school on the right-hand side.
You'll notice our close proximity to downtown St. Catharines and surrounding venues including the Meridian Centre and the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre.

Downtown St. Catharines
Being situated in the downtown core comes with many advantages, including being in close proximity to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre (where we host some of our classes and concerts) and the Meridian Centre, which hosts both sporting events and concerts. Students also have easy access to other arts venues, arts festivals and events, shopping, and great places to eat and hangout downtown.

Marilyn I. Walker's Legacy
The Tree of Learning
This quilt was created by Marilyn I. Walker, famed fibre artist and philanthropist. It was designed to embody the spirit of our new arts campus, through integrating symbols for the art forms we teach, and the buildings which represent our new home in downtown St. Catharines.
Mrs. Walker gifted $15-million dollars to the arts at Brock University in 2008. Unprecedented in its generosity and foresight, the gift was key to securing the historic Canada Hair Cloth building in downtown St. Catharines, which has since transformed into the state-of-the-art learning facility we see today.
